Midway through my holiday, we’d managed to get some time off. Just the two of us, me and the missus, lovely stuff.
I wanted to visit the fantastic Lishman’s butchers in Ilkley, but we also headed off without breakfast so lunch was on the cards. Now, I’m not a rich man so I needed something better than a sarnie at Costa but also not quite the Box Tree either.
We spotted WildWood – until I looked today, I didn’t realise it was a chain which did spoil a tiny bit of magic for me, but that said, it mattered not.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, well-looked after and the food was spot on for the price you pay. It was £10 for 2 courses and a drink (you really can’t knock that!)
We opted for Calamari and Rosemary Bread to start, and shared with each other. For mains, I got the hot pepperoni pizza and my better half opted for the spaghetti bolognese. Mine was absolutely delicious, and I’m assured that the pasta was spot on too!
Well done WildWood – I’ll be back!
