Have Bundobust been taken over by the Deer Park as my favourite place to eat in Leeds? I’m still unsure.
Based on the starters, I think it would have overtaken it.
We went for the breads, olives and oil. Because, we were hungry.
They do a fantastic lunch menu, but their full menu also looks like it could quell even the thirstiest of appetites.
For starters I opted for the mouthwatering Crispy Karaaga Chicken with Cucumber Ribbons, Mooli, Grain Salad and warm Katsu Sauce. It came out looking very stylish, much like the interior of said building. It’s a pub, but a classy pub, not a ping and ding Wetherspoons (honestly, please don’t eat there – I used to work in a kitchen there, and they are awful!).
For my main I got a Breaded Buttermilk and Rosemary Chicken burger, with chilli mayonnaise and fries. It was nice enough, probably not too far removed from a chicken club. However, the mayonnaise was to die for.
To finish the meal I got the Warm Belgian Chocolate Brownie, which was stunning. I would have liked to have tasted a bit more of the bourbon flavour in the ice cream but delicious nonetheless.
It also came to the very reasonable price of £15.50pp for 3 courses and then drinks. I’d recommend to anyone who likes their food better than average, warm cosy open fires and fantastic service to give the Deer Park a go. Well worth it!
