There is a vast amount of choice when it comes to eating in Leeds. However, my top top is to have a look around for early bird and lunch menus and you’ll be able to eat somewhere decent for a couple of quid more than you’d spend at Greggs (and probably the equivalent to McDonalds these days!).
Miller and Carter have a good lunch menu available with prices starting from £7.95
We were both welcomed with open arms by the very friendly and warm staff, and seated by the air conditioning after mentioning the heat which was nice.
Obviously one course was never going to be enough for us though. We started with the calamari with a chipotle chili mayonnaise – which I would advise to keep for any chips that may come with your main. We also got the sticky chili-hoisin chicken wings too. Both delicious, but the calamari was definitely the winner.
For mains we both got steak. I got rare, but the other half went for medium-rare. Again, rare is my best advice for the pichana rump.
Served with salad and well-seasoned chips, it was a decent meal which is available for a very reasonable price.
The service was efficient and polite, and is a great place to nip in for a working lunch or to begin a lazy afternoon.
